The Lake Area Recovery Center (LARC) has been serving the Ashtabula County community since 1967. Originally named the Ashtabula Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (CADA), LARC has grown to become a provider of various outpatient and residential treatment programs and services, drug and alcohol screening, and recovery housing. LARC partners with local courts and probation and parole offices to provide services to specialty court participants and people with past criminal convictions as well as providing services to people who have referred themselves to treatment without intervention of the criminal justice system or Children Services Board. LARC strives to be able to provide services to all people regardless of their ability to pay and accepts all forms of Medicaid in addition to providing a sliding fee scale for services based on a person’s income. Financial hardship should not be a barrier to someone seeking help in overcoming their disorder, and LARC works to assist all people regardless of their ability to pay. LARC believes that all people can establish a productive, healthy life after developing a substance use disorder and aspires to be a model of effective, empathetic care.
